PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Flyers forward Mike Knuble will have surgery Thursday to repair a small cartilage tear in his right shoulder.
Knuble, who finished second on the team with 54 points this season, had the same procedure three years ago on the other shoulder.
“I don’t think this tear is severe as the one I had in my left shoulder,” Knuble said.
The right wing chose to have surgery now rather than wait for the outcome of rehabilitation.
“Now is obviously the smartest time to have it done,” Knuble said.
