PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Flyers forward Mike Knuble will have surgery Thursday to repair a small cartilage tear in his right shoulder.
Knuble, who finished second on the team with 54 points this season, had the same procedure three years ago on the other shoulder.
``I don't think this tear is severe as the one I had in my left shoulder,'' Knuble said.
The right wing chose to have surgery now rather than wait for the outcome of rehabilitation.
``Now is obviously the smartest time to have it done,'' Knuble said.
