Calgary at San Jose (10 p.m. EDT). This is the first time the Sharks have hosted a Game 7 in franchise history after playing five times on the road. The Flames were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs the past two seasons, each time in six games.
- Andrei Kostitsyn, Canadiens, had two goals and an assist to lead Montreal to a 5-0 win over Boston.
- Alex Ovechkin, Capitals, scored twice in the third period to lift Washington to a 4-2 come-from-behind victory over Philadelphia.
Top-seeded Montreal advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals with a 5-0 victory over Boston in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series on Monday night. The Canadiens, who haven't won a playoff series since 2003-04, will face Philadelphia in the second round if the Flyers can win their Eastern Conference quarterfinal against Washington. Otherwise, Montreal will face the New York Rangers.
Washington defeated Philadelphia 4-2 on Monday night to force Game 7 in its Eastern Conference first-round series. It was the second time in the series that the Capitals rallied from a two-goal deficit and won on an Alex Ovechkin's game-winner. Washington is also trying to become the 21st team in league history to come back after being down 3-1 and win a best-of-seven series. The Capitals are looking to win the second Game 7 in team history. The other time Washington rallied from a 3-1 hole was 20 years ago this month against Philadelphia.
Rookie goalie Carey Price recorded his second shutout of the playoffs as Montreal blanked Boston 5-0 on Monday night in the deciding game of its first-round playoff series. Price, who got his first shutout in a 1-0 win in Game 4, stopped 25 shots overall, including 11 shots in the opening period.
``They played with desperation and were throwing everything at the net. They skated hard and we got a little casual and I think that hurt us.'' - Goalie Martin Biron after Philadelphia dropped a 4-2 home loss to Washington on Monday night, forcing Game 7 on the road on Tuesday. The Flyers have lost two career playoff series after leading 3-1 and are 1-3 in Game 7s on the road, with their only win coming at Pittsburgh in a second-round series in 1989.
