BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Sabres coach Lindy Ruff and general manager Darcy Regier aren’t going anywhere.
The team announced on its Web site Friday that both will be back for next season despite the Sabres missing the playoffs for a second year in a row. The decision came less than a week after Buffalo completed its regular season by finishing 10th in the Eastern Conference for a second straight season.
Sabres managing partner Larry Quinn told The Associated Press that the team decided to keep both after meeting with Ruff and Regier this past week.
Ruff, who completed his 11th season and is the team’s winningest coach, is signed through next season. Regier, who completed his 12th season as Sabres GM, is signed through 2011.
