PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Flyers All-Star forward Simon Gagne underwent surgery Monday to repair a small hernia on his right side and a larger hernia on his left side.
Gagne, who led the NHL-worst Flyers with 41 goals and 68 points, was expected to need up to two months for a complete recovery.
Flyers goalie Antero Niittymaki had surgery on his left hip on Friday and was expected to need about 10 weeks to recover. Niittymaki, a restricted free agent, won only nine games this season and had similar surgery on his right hip last year.
