NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Nashville Predators center David Legwand returned to the lineup Monday night for Game 3 against the Detroit Red Wings after missing 14 straight games with a deep bone bruise on his left foot.
Legwand had not played since March 7 after taking a shot off his foot that still had him in a walking boot Sunday and unable to participate in the team’s Monday morning skate.
His leadership and scoring ability can only help the Predators, who have been outscored 7-3 in falling behind 2-0 in the series against the Red Wings. Legwand has 15 goals and 29 assists in 65 games this season. He has totaled 107 points the last two seasons.
Nashville used Darcy Hordichuk in Game 2 on Saturday in place of Legwand, and chose not to recall anyone from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League.
