EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) -The Edmonton Oilers signed right-winger Robert Nilsson to a three-year contract Saturday.
Nilsson set career highs in 2007-08 with 10 goals and 31 assists in 71 games. The 23-year-old finished sixth on the Oilers in scoring. He was obtained from the New York Islanders as part of the Ryan Smyth trade last year.
In 128 career NHL games, Nilsson has 17 goals and 45 assists.
The agreement came a day after defenseman Tom Gilbert signed a $24 million, six-year deal with the team.
