BOSTON (AP) -Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas says he struggled early in his career but never thought about giving up hockey.
Now the NHL’s top netminder has a four-year contract with Boston, reportedly worth $20 million. The 34-year-old Thomas is in his third full NHL season, all with the Bruins. He played for $1.1 million in each of his other years.
Thomas says Saturday he didn’t consider going to Detroit after this season, when he would have become a free agent.
He currently leads the league in goals-against average and save percentage.
