BOSTON (AP) -Bruins center Marc Savard says the hit to the head he took from Pittsburgh’s Matt Cooke was dirty and that he’s still feeling the effects of the concussion that likely ended his season.
Savard returned to the TD Garden for the first time since suffering a Grade 2 concussion on March 7 on Saturday before the Bruins faced the Calgary Flames.
Savard acknowledged Cooke’s attempts to contact him since the incident, which was not penalized on the ice or upon review by the league, but said he has no desire to talk to Cooke.
The hit was, however, the impetus for a new head-hit rule instituted by the NHL Thursday.
Savard said he has good days and bad days, but added he has just started to go outside “to get some fresh air.”
