CHICAGO (AP) – Blackhawks star Patrick Kane is expected to be out about three weeks with a lower-body injury sustained during a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues.
Kane, the team’s leading scorer, was injured when he collided with St. Louis’ Brenden Morrow at 7:56 of the second period Wednesday night. Kane was favoring his left leg as he headed to the dressing room under his own power. He didn’t return for the third.
Morrow fell into Kane after he was checked by Chicago’s Sheldon Brookbank deep in the Blues zone.
Kane entered with 29 goals and 39 assists in 68 games.
After the game, Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said Kane might be sidelined about three weeks.
