TORONTO (AP) -Dallas Stars forward Steve Ott was suspended one game by the NHL for attempting to injure Anaheim’s Travis Moen during a fight Saturday.
Ott, who was suspended indefinitely a day later, did not play Sunday against Pittsburgh and is eligible to return Tuesday when the Stars play the Sharks in San Jose.
Ott and Moen squared off after the final horn sounded in Anaheim’s 4-3 victory Saturday over Dallas. Ott’s hand made contact with Moen’s eye, which game officials ruled was an eye-gouge and gave him a match penalty for attempting to injure.
Ott left the ice with two cuts on his face.
$17,000. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
