PHILADELPHIA (AP) -The Flyers acquired defenseman Jaroslav Modry from the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday for a third-round draft pick in 2008.
Modry has a goal and six points in 61 points for the last-place Kings. The Flyers needed help on their injury-plagued blue line. They've also been prone to giveaways near the net on their seven-game losing streak entering Tuesday night's game at Ottawa.
Modry played with the Kings two times - from 2007-08 and from 1995-04 - and is seventh in career games played (454) and ninth in points (164) among Kings defenseman.
