RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -The Carolina Hurricanes put team captain Rod Brind'Amour on injured reserve and recalled center Joe Jensen from its American Hockey League affiliate in Albany.
Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford said Monday that Brind'Amour was moved to the reserve list to make room on the roster for Jensen.
Brind'Amour tore a ligament in his left knee Thursday in Carolina's game against Pittsburgh. Doctors said Brind'Amour likely will miss most of the season.
The Hurricanes acquired the 24-year-old Jensen on Jan. 31 from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
