DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Red Wings put defenseman Niklas Kronwall on injured reserve and recalled goaltender Jimmy Howard on Monday.
Kronwall has not played since Jan. 30 because of a strained shoulder.
Howard was added to the roster because Dominik Hasek is day-to-day with a hip injury and is not expected to be in uniform on Tuesday night at Nashville. Howard is 17-19-2 with a 2.61 goals-against average for the Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL.
