-Cam Ward, Hurricanes, made 33 saves in a 2-1 win over Washington.
-Joe Thornton, Sharks, scored a power-play goal 1:49 into overtime, leading San Jose to a 2-1 victory over Columbus.

RETURN
Philadelphia Flyers right wing Joffrey Lupul, sidelined since Jan. 5 with a spinal cord contusion, has been cleared to play against the New York Rangers on Saturday, five days earlier than expected. Lupul suffered the injury in a collision with teammate Derian Hatcher at Toronto.

STREAKING
Anaheim has won three straight after a 2-1 win over New Jersey on Friday night. ... Buffalo earned a point in its seventh straight game, a 3-2 shootout loss to Boston.
