BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Sabres defenseman Teppo Numminen has been activated from injured reserve and expected to play Wednesday, when Buffalo hosts Toronto.
Numminen missed six games because of a small break in his jaw after he was hit in the face by a puck against Carolina on Jan. 17. He previously had two goals and 12 assists in 45 games.
To make room for Numminen, the Sabres sent defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani to Portland of the AHL. Gragnani had no points in four games with Buffalo.
