COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -Sergei Fedorov was placed on the injured list Tuesday by the Columbus Blue Jackets, who also activated center Andrew Murray and made a trade with the Colorado Avalanche.
Fedorov, the club's third-leading scorer with eight goals and 19 assists in 46 games, sustained a concussion recently and missed the last two games while complaining of nausea. The 38-year-old center ranks among the top 50 in NHL history in goals, assists and points. He won the Hart Trophy as league MVP in 1994.
The 26-year-old Murray played well for the Blue Jackets after his NHL debut on Dec. 27, scoring two goals in six games. He has not played since sustaining a concussion at St. Louis on Jan. 8.
The Blue Jackets also traded minor leaguers Darcy Campbell and Philippe Dupuis to Colorado for right wing Mark Rycroft.
The 29-year-old Rycroft was sent to Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse.
Rycroft has appeared in 226 career NHL games with St. Louis and Colorado. He has 21 goals and 25 assists, including six goals and six assists with the Avalanche last season.
Campbell, a 23-year-old defenseman, has one goal and five assists in 28 games for Syracuse this season. Dupuis, 22, has seven goals and four assists in 29 games for the Crunch.
