DENVER (AP) -Colorado Avalanche leading scorer Paul Stastny was placed on the injured list Saturday, two days after the second-year forward had his appendix removed.
Stastny, who had been chosen for next week's NHL All-Star game, could be sidelined for up to three weeks. He has 17 goals and a team-high 49 points in 46 games this season.
The Avalanche recalled forward David Jones from Lake Erie of the AHL on Saturday to take Stastny's spot on the roster. Jones had nine goals and 13 assists in 36 games with Lake Erie this season.
