CHICAGO (AP) -St. Louis goalie Manny Legace left in the first period of the Blues’ game against the Chicago Blackhawks with an injured right arm.
Legace, named to the Western Conference All-Star team last week, was injured with 4:38 left in the first. Chicago’s Patrick Sharp drove to the net, but was muscled down by St. Louis’ Barret Jackman. Sharp then barreled over Legace’s right pad and flew headfirst into the net.
Blues trainer Ray Barile attended to goalie on the ice, and Legace played the remainder of the period. He stopped all seven shots he faced in the first, including several tough chances, but was replaced by Marek Schwarz to start the second.
