CHICAGO (AP) -Chicago Blackhawks center Dave Bolland has returned to the ice two months after having surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back.
Bolland says he hopes to join the team on its upcoming eight-game road trip and perhaps be activated before the February Olympics break.
The 23-year-old Bolland had a career-high 19 goals and 47 points last year and helped Chicago reach the Western Conference finals. Adam Burish has resumed skating following a right knee injury and could rejoin the team after the Olympics.
Star winger Marian Hossa, who missed Sunday’s game against Anaheim with a lower body injury, also skated Tuesday. It’s unclear if he will play Thursday against Columbus.
The Blackhawks have lost two straight.
