The Anaheim Ducks were born on the silver screen and came of age by capturing the shiniest of silver cups.

They dropped the mighty from their name, but not their game and skated off with the first Stanley Cup championship in California history.

The 14-year-old Ducks captured the NHL title with a 6-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night, ending the series in five games in front of the home folks again.

The Anaheim Ducks will have to play without Chris Pronger - again.

Pronger was suspended Sunday for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals for his forearm to the head of Dean McAmmond that knocked out the Senators forward and made his status for Monday night's pivotal game questionable.

Senators Back In It

Upon further review, the Ottawa Senators are right back in the Stanley Cup finals.

Daniel Alfredsson broke out of a scoring slump with the help of the replay booth, and Anaheim defenseman Chris Pronger deflected the go-ahead goal into his own net during Ottawa's three-goal second period, giving the Senators a 5-3 victory over the Ducks on Saturday night.
