Ducks roll at Avs
Anaheim earned a 5-2 victory Saturday night at Colorado to improve to 7-5-0 on the season. Adam Henrique put the Ducks on the board 50 seconds into the game on assists from Rickard Rakell and Hampus Lindholm. Carter Rowney pushed the lead to 2-0 later in the first with assists going to Derek Grant and Lindholm. The Avalanche trimmed their deficit to 2-1 in the second period, but a power play goal by Ryan Getzlaf a few minutes later made it 3-1 on assists by Lindholm and Ryan Miller. Colorado cut it to 3-2 early in the third, yet a Max Comtois goal at the 13:18 mark gave Anaheim a two-goal cushion again with assists courtesy of Nick Ritchie and Brendan Guhle. Jakob Silfverberg finished the scoring with an unassisted goal late in the period. Miller picked up the win in net as he allowed two goals on 37 shots.
Golden Knights blasted at home
Las Vegas lost by a score of 6-1 at home Friday night versus Colorado to drop to 7-5-0 on the season. William Karlsson evened the scoring at 1-1 with 1:30 remaining in the first period on a goal assisted by Reilly Smith. The Golden Knights proceeded to allow five goals in a row from that point on with no answer. Marc-Andre Fleury allowed four goals on 26 shots before departing. Garret Sparks gave up two more goals on 14 shots the rest of the way.
NHL Betting Trends
Anaheim
The under is 8-0 in the last eight Ducks Sunday games. The under is 8-2 in the last 10 Anaheim games versus the Western Conference.
Las Vegas
The over is 4-1 in the last five Golden Knights games versus the Western Conference. The over is 4-1 in the last five Las Vegas games as a home favorite.
Prediction:
Anaheim will have its No. 1 goalie in John Gibson in net for this one and he’s had a strong start to his season, while the Golden Knights will want to lock up on the defensive end after the rough night Friday. I see goals hard to come by here and the under hitting.
