The Kings hired O'Donnell on Wednesday as their manager of fan development and alumni relations.

O'Donnell spent eight of his 17 NHL seasons with Los Angeles, ranking fifth in games played by a Kings defenseman (541). He played for the Kings from 1994-2000 and 2008-10.

He also played for seven other NHL teams, winning the Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007. The 41-year-old O'Donnell retired after playing for Chicago during the 2011-12 season.

O'Donnell will work in community relations with the Kings, participating in community events and alumni appearances.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Kings are 12/1 to win the 2014 Stanley Cup, as are the Blues. The Blackhawks remain favored at 6/1, while the Penguins are 13/2 and the Bruins are 10/1.
