According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rangers are currently 8/1 to win the Eastern Conference in the 2014-15 NHL season, giving them the same odds as the Red Wings and Canadiens, respectively. Those odds put New York, which represented the Eastern Conference in last year's Stanley Cup, behind the Bruins (11/4 favorites) and Penguins (5/1).

Continuing with the odds, the Lightning are 11/1 to win the Eastern Conference next season while the Blue Jackets and Flyers are both 16/1, respectively. The Capitals, meanwhile, are 22/1, while the Senators and Maple Leafs are both 28/1, respectively.

Four teams are 33/1 long shots to win the Eastern Conference in 2014-15. Those teams include the Panthers, Islanders, Devils and Hurricanes. The Sabres, meanwhile, have the worst odds to win the conference at 50/1.

The Bruins have represented the Eastern Conference in the Stanley Cup in two of the last four years. The Penguins also won the East in back-to-back years in 2008 and 2009, while the Flyers won in 2010 and the Devils won in 2012. As previously mentioned, the Rangers advanced to the Stanley Cup this past season, but were eliminated four-games-to-one by the champion Los Angeles Kings.
