Semyon Varlamov allowed just one goal on 29 shots in Saturday’s 4-1 victory against the Boston Bruins in Game 4. Varlamov and the Islanders actually fell behind when David Krejci scored early in the second period on the power play to break the ice. But Kyle Palmieri tied it up less than three minutes later, Mathew Barzal scored in the third to help win it, and the Isles tacked on a pair of empty-net goals to help the home side level the series 2-2. The series now shifts back to TD Garden in Boston for Game 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
Boston Bruins DFS Spin
Patrice Bergeron has been named a finalist for the Selke Trophy, along with Aleksander Barkov and Mark Stone. Bergeron has won the trophy four times with the last coming in 2016-17. It is given to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game. This is the 10th straight season that Bergeron has been a finalist for the award. Bergeron posted 23 goals and 48 points over 54 games during the regular season, while leading the league with 714 faceoff wins. He is trying to become the first five-time winner of the Selke Trophy, which would break his tie with long-time Montreal great Bob Gainey.
