BOSTON (AP) - Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli says goalie Tim Thomas is considering taking next year off for family reasons.
Chiarelli says Thomas is ``worn out'' and thinking of skipping the next season.

The GM says the team is proceeding as if the two-time Vezina Trophy winner will not be available next year.

Thomas, who's 38, expressed an interest in playing in the 2014 Olympics.

Thomas has emerged as one of the top goalies in the NHL. But he's also been known to go his own way, as when he skipped the 2011 Stanley Cup champions' visit to the White House for political reasons.
