Carey Price allowed just two goals on 43 shots in Saturday’s Game 6 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime, 3-2. Price was playing with a ton of confidence, snaring pucks left and right with relative ease, especially in the extra session. At one point in overtime he got his right pad down and kept a puck from sneaking in at the post. At wasn’t the strongest of shots, but every puck thrown at him in overtime could’ve ended the team’s season if it went through. Price bowed his back and kept his team alive, forcing a winner-take-all Game 7 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Monday night.
Toronto Maple Leafs DFS Spin
Auston Matthews went scoreless in Saturday’s 3-2 overtime loss against the Montreal Canadiens in Game 6. Matthews went without a goal for the fifth time in six games in this series, but it certainly wasn’t from a lack of trying. He led all players in the game with seven shots on goal, while adding three blocked shots and three hits while winning 14 of his 27 faceoff attempts (51.9 percent) across 30:11 of ice time across 35 shifts. The Rocket Richard Trophy winner has had a power outage in the playoffs, and if the Leafs end up blowing Game 7 on home ice Monday night, the disappearance of Matthews will certainly be a bigger story.
