The Bruins are the top seed in the Atlantic Region while the Red Wings are the No. 4 seed in the region. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Boston is the clear favorite to win this series, as they have odds of -320 to win, while the Red Wings have been given a money line of +260.

Boston went 54-19-9 on the season, racking up 117 points. The Bruins were 31-7-3 at home and 23-12-6 on the road. The 31 wins at home were the most in the NHL. Boston also scored 261 goals while allowing 177. Both were tops in the Western Conference.

Detroit went 39-28-15 this season, racking up 93 total points. The 15 overtime losses were tied for second-most in the NHL. The Red Wings were 18-13-10 at home and 21-15-5 on the road. The Red Wings scored just 222 goals at home while allowing 230 goals.

These two teams met four times during the regular season, with Detroit actually picking up three wins to Boston’s 1. The Wings were the only team to pick up a road win in the season series. Detroit had 13 goals in the four games while Boston scored 9. The Red Wings have won seven of their last eight overall meetings with Boston.
