Blues rally in third period
St. Louis trailed 1-0 through two periods before coming back in the third with a pair of goals to stun host Winnipeg by a count of 2-1. David Perron evened the score at 1-1 with 15:55 left in the third period on on assists by Colton Parayko and Oskar Sundqvist. With 2:05 remaining, the Blues went ahead 2-1 on a goal courtesy of Tyler Bozak off assists from Patrick Maroon and Alex Pietrangelo. Jordan Binnington was stellar in his postseason debut as he recorded 24 saves on 25 shots in the winning effort.
Jets unable to build on lead
Winnipeg grabbed a 1-0 advantage over St. Louis with 6:32 remaining in the first period on a Patrik Laine goal assisted by Bryan Little and Dustin Byfuglien. But the Jets were unable to put a second goal past Binnington and watched as the Blues rallied back with a pair of third-period goals to steal the victory. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck registered 24 saves on 26 shots in the defeat.
NHL Betting Trends
St. Louis
The Blues are 6-1 in their last seven conference quarterfinals games. St. Louis is 7-2 in its last nine Friday games.
Winnipeg
The Jets are 68-30 in their last 98 home games. Winnipeg is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings.
Prediction:
Winnipeg is stellar at home and while the Blues have a ton of confidence in Binnington, he is still a rookie and he’ll probably have a hiccup or two in the postseason. The Jets are going to come out firing tonight in order to not go down 2-0 and on a short moneyline like this, I think the hosts are a solid bet here.
