While he deserved a better fate in his last game, Ondrej Pavelec took the loss in a 3-2 overtime defeat at Philadelphia on Monday night. He made 29 saves and was 14 seconds away from a shootout when Claude Giroux ended the contest with a goal in the extra period. He’s 10-13-3 on the year with a 2.72 goals-against-average to go along with his .907 save percentage.

The Blackhawks will counter with Scott Darling, who continues to draw starters with Corey Crawford on the shelf. After winning back-to-back games last weekend, Darling took a step back on Tuesday when he allowed three goals on just 17 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Wild. He’s now 9-8-3 on the year with a 2.51 goals-against-average and a .914 save percentage.
Even though Darling has been inconsistent, the Hawks have owned the Jets in previous meetings. They’re 8-1 in their last nine trips to Winnipeg and 5-1 in their last six games versus the Jets overall. The road team has also won eight of the last 11 meetings between these two teams while the Jets are just 2-6 in their last eight games overall.
