LINE MOVEMENT
The line of -150 and the total of 5.5 have remained in place since they opened. San Jose can be found from a -148 to a -160 favorite, while New Jersey can be bet from +130 to +140.
PUBLIC BETTING
As of Tuesday afternoon, 66 percent of public bets have been placed on the Sharks. Online wager info also shows that 54 percent of bets are siding with the under.
INJURY TO WATCH
Devils left winger Miles Wood (upper body) and center Pavel Zacha (upper body) are both questionable to play. Left winger Marcus Johansson (brain injury) is out indefinitely. For the Sharks, right winger Joel Ward (shoulder) is probable. Center Melker Karlsson (leg), defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic (chest) and right winger Joonas Donskoi (upper body) are all questionable. Defenseman Joakim Ryan (upper body) is out until late March, while center Joe Thornton (knee) is out indefinitely.
BETTING STRATEGY
San Jose has dominated this series with eight wins in the last 10 meetings. The Sharks are also 21-11-2-1 at home this season, but New Jersey is also a solid 19-13-2-3 on the road. The Devils have been strong on this road trip with three straight wins before a 4-2 loss at the Ducks last game. The game at Anaheim was on a back-to-back, while there was a day of rest before this game which should lead to fresher legs. San Jose has won four in a road with the last three being on the road, but sometimes when a team returns home after a road trip they struggle in that first game as they show a little too much comfortability. I like the way the Devils have been playing lately and think they are at a good price to take a shot on them to record the upset.
