Tough Road Ahead

Maybe no team in NFL history has gone through a more difficult path through the playoffs to win a Super Bowl than the Pittsburgh Steelers did two years ago.

The one they now face could easily top it.

With possibly the least momentum of any playoff team and missing their Pro Bowl running back, the Steelers host the only visiting team to win at Heinz Field all season when they meet the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday night.

Bring on The Redskins

The shooting death of All-Pro safety Sean Taylor in November has galvanized the Washington Redskins' defense. The surprising success of a 12-year veteran quarterback thrust into a starting role for the first time in a decade has done the same for their offense.

Hoping to use momentum from a late surge that helped them qualify for the postseason, the Redskins meet the four-time defending NFC West champion Seattle Seahawks at Qwest Field on Saturday in a wild-card matchup.

Winning One For 21

Even the margin of victory reminded the playoff-bound Washington Redskins of Sean Taylor.

Titans Clinch

Kerry Collins waited all season to prove his value in Tennessee. The Titans wouldn't have been celebrating Sunday night without him.

Collins rescued his teammates in the most precarious circumstances, leading them to three straight second-half field goals in relief of injured Vince Young and helping Tennessee rally for a 16-10 win at Indianapolis that drew cheers from Nashville and moans from Cleveland.

Playoff Aspirations

On the final day of the NFL season, the Tennessee Titans need not monitor any games or watch any scoreboards, except one: their own.

If the Titans beat the Indianapolis Colts at the RCA Dome on Sunday night in the final game of the NFL's regular season, they will clinch the last AFC wild card spot and go to the playoffs for the first time since the 2003 season.
