DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder and cornerback Will Allen were limited in practice Thursday because of injuries, and their availability for Sunday’s showdown against the New York Jets is uncertain.
Both missed practice Wednesday. Crowder sat out Sunday’s victory at Kansas City with a knee injury, and Allen hurt his groin during the game, but continued to play. They participated in individual drills Thursday.
“They both want to be in this game for sure,” coach Tony Sparano said. “It’s day to day, and they did do some work today.”
Miami signed 12-year veteran linebacker Derek Smith on Tuesday as insurance if Crowder can’t play. Jason Allen or Joey Thomas would replace Allen in the starting lineup.
The Dolphins (10-5) win the AFC East if they beat the Jets.
