KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Even knowing the rebuilding program may wind up costing him his job, Kansas City Chiefs coach Herm Edwards insists he would make the same decisions again.
Edwards said Monday that stripping the Chiefs of most of their aging veterans and going with so many young people was the right thing to do, even though it’s led to this year’s 2-13 record.
But as owner Clark Hunt begins his search for a new general manager, the Chiefs are preparing to close out the worst season in franchise history Sunday at Cincinnati. Edwards knows he could be about to coach his last Chiefs game – but says he absolutely does want to return and continue the rebuilding program next year.
