NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Pittsburgh linebacker James Harrison hurt his right hip early in the first quarter, tried to play, then headed to the locker room Sunday in the Steelers’ game with Tennessee.
Team officials said Harrison’s return was questionable, but Harrison was back on the field for the end of Tennessee’s next series after a quick return.
Harrison landed on his right hip chasing Titans running back Chris Johnson with 9:09 left in the first quarter. He took a couple minutes before gingerly walking to the sideline. He returned on the next defensive series for Pittsburgh, then headed to the locker room.
The linebacker, a top contender for Defensive Player of the Year, has 15 sacks for the NFL’s top-rated defense.
