BEREA, Ohio (AP) – Embattled coach Eric Mangini still believes he has the Browns headed in the right direction despite back-to-back embarrassing losses.
Cleveland was beaten 19-17 on Sunday by the Cincinnati Bengals, who snapped a 10-game losing streak. Last week, the Browns (5-9) lost at 2-10 Buffalo. Mangini said he will remain focused on the next game – against Baltimore – amid speculation about his future and can’t be concerned with what could take place after the season.
Team president Mike Holmgren will evaluate Mangini once the season’s over. Mangini is 10-20 in two seasons with Cleveland. Holmgren spared Mangini after last season, when the Browns closed with a four-game winning streak.
