NEW ORLEANS (AP) -The Saints are no longer perfect and are looking increasingly vulnerable.
After escaping with slim victories over struggling Washington and Atlanta in the previous two weeks, New Orleans finally lost its first game of the season 24-17 to the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night.
It was the third straight week the Saints had fallen behind early and allowed an opposing quarterback to throw for more than 300 yards.
While the Saints have been a dominant fourth-quarter team most of the season, there’s a troubling trend in the first quarter. After New Orleans yielded TDs on Dallas’ first two possessions, the Saints had allowed 99 first-quarter points. That was a league-worst in that category before Sunday’s games kicked off.
