HOUSTON (AP) – Houston Texans owner Bob McNair heard a lot of positive comments from his fellow owners at a league meeting this week.
He decided to share the encouraging words with his struggling players before their rematch with Tennessee.
McNair gave his team a pep talk Thursday to help it move on from its latest tough loss and finish the season strong. He knew his team was down with little hope of that elusive first playoff berth.
He says he told the team how much respect the other owners have for the Texans (5-8) and that they think Houston is close to being an “outstanding team.”
Star receiver Andre Johnson says the talk was meaningful because it is rare for McNair to speak to the entire team.
