ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Matthew Stafford watched the Detroit Lions practice Wednesday with his left shoulder wrapped in ice. He might miss Sunday’s home game against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Lions, who have won just twice after a winless 2008, are closing the season banged up.
Detroit put running back Kevin Smith on injured reserve with an injured left knee and Casey FitzSimmons is also out for the season with a concussion. They signed running back Cedric Peerman and tight end Michael Mathews.
Detroit also added defensive tackle Terrance Taylor and receiver Eric Fowler to its practice squad.
