NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee cornerback Cortland Finnegan says fans should get their popcorn ready when he and Houston receiver Andre Johnson take the field Sunday for “The Rematch.”
Finnegan says he isn’t looking for retaliation. But he knows both men will be watched closely to see how they react three weeks after Johnson punched Finnegan three times before they were ejected in Houston’s 20-0 win. The NFL fined both $25,000.
The Titans (5-8) aren’t backing down with Finnegan expected to match up on Johnson throughout the game.
Finnegan said Wednesday quick jamming Johnson, which he did just before the receiver yanked the cornerback’s helmet off, probably is out.
And though Finnegan plans to be just as physical with Johnson, he wants to apologize to the receiver in person.
