FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – The New England Patriots are spending little time celebrating the win that clinched an NFL playoff berth.
The Patriots became the first team to lock up a postseason spot on Sunday when they beat the Bears 36-7 in snowy, windy Chicago. Cornerback Darius Butler said they put that game behind them after watching film of it on Monday, then turned their attention to their next opponent.
The Patriots are home against the Green Bay Packers (8-5) on Sunday night.
New England is tied with the Atlanta Falcons for the NFL’s best record at 11-2. The Patriots have won five straight games and have outscored their last two opponents 81-10. And Tom Brady hasn’t thrown an interception in the last eight games.
