KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson left Thursday night’s game against the Raiders after going to the turf untouched and grabbing at his left Achilles, which has been bothering him for several weeks.
Defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches also left the game with back spasms.
The Chiefs had just taken a 21-3 in their AFC West showdown when Johnson hit the turf. He quickly took off his helmet and slammed it to the ground, and the look of frustration on his face was clear.
Johnson ruptured his right Achilles in similar fashion two years ago.
The 34-year-old Johnson is already the Chiefs’ career tackles leader. He came into the game with 89 tackles, a sack and an interception that he returned for a touchdown this season.
