BEREA, Ohio (AP) – Browns rookie quarterback Colt McCoy still isn’t ready to practice because of an ankle injury that will likely keep him out for a third straight game.
McCoy hasn’t played since suffering a high left ankle sprain on Nov. 21 at Jacksonville, his fifth start. Browns coach Eric Mangini said Wednesday it’s possible that McCoy could practice this week, but it’s “not a slam dunk.” He said McCoy was able to work with trainers on Tuesday.
Jake Delhomme has started the past two games for the Browns (5-7), who will travel to Buffalo (2-10) on Sunday. McCoy said last week that he wants to play again this season.
