CLEVELAND (AP) – Browns linebacker Eric Barton is the team’s Ed Block Courage Award winner after coming back from a career-threatening neck injury.
Barton missed the final eight games last season after injuring his neck. But he’s come back and started in 10 games this season for the Browns. Barton has 50 tackles and a fumble recovery while playing in all 12 games.
All 32 NFL teams vote for one player who best exemplifies courage, compassion, commitment and community service. Barton will be honored with the other winners at an event this March in Baltimore. The award is named after Ed Block, a former trainer for the Baltimore Colts.
