DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -Receiver Chris Hannon joined the Miami Dolphins off waivers Thursday from the San Francisco 49ers.
He takes the roster spot of guard Justin Smiley, who was placed on injured reserve after breaking his ankle Sunday against St. Louis.
Hannon spent the first 11 games of the season on the 49ers' practice squad, and he dressed but did not play in their most recent game. He has also been with Kansas City and Carolina.
