RENTON, Wash. (AP) -The Seattle Seahawks are counting on Mike Williams being able to play against the Carolina Panthers this Sunday.
Williams was able to make it through practice on Friday for the first time since injuring his left foot in New Orleans two weeks ago.
“I ain’t right, but I think I’m good enough,” Williams said.
Williams worked out before last week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs but wasn’t able to play.
Coach Pete Carroll said Williams will need to make it through pregame workouts on Sunday, but if he can do that he’ll play against the Panthers. He said that if Williams can play, they don’t intend to cut back on his workload. “If he’s going, he’s going,” Carroll said.
Williams leads the Seahawks with 52 catches for 654 yards on the season.
“Matt (Hasselbeck) has kind of zeroed in on him as a target that he likes going to, and that’s a big deal to the quarterback,” Carroll said. “So it’ll help us and hopefully we can get him out there.”
Defensive tackle Colin Cole has missed the last four games with a left high ankle sprain. Cole has been able to work out each of the past two days with the training staff and is making progress toward returning.
“He’s bounced back quite a bit, maybe quicker that we thought coming out of last week,” Carroll said. “Whether he can make it to game time is still in question, but he’s getting very close.”
Cole is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.
Tight end John Carlson will also be a game time decision and is questionable with a hip flexor injury that was aggravated this week, causing him to miss practice on Thursday and Friday.
Cornerback Marcus Trufant (lower leg) and linebacker Lofa Tatupu (knee) are both expected to play after missing practice earlier in the week. Each fully participated in practice on Friday.
