BEREA, Ohio (AP) -Cleveland Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme will start Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Coach Eric Mangini said Friday that with rookie Colt McCoy still out with a sprained ankle, Delhomme will make his second straight start. Delhomme, who missed eight games with a high ankle sprain, had an uneven performance last week against Carolina, his former team.
Delhomme did a nice job spreading the ball around, but threw two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. However, the Browns (4-7) overcame his miscues and won 24-23.
Mangini said McCoy could make the trip to Miami (6-5) and may be listed as Cleveland’s No. 3 quarterback. McCoy went 2-3 as a starter while filling in for Delhomme and Seneca Wallace, who also hurt his ankle.
