METAIRIE, La. (AP) -Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey and free safety Darren Sharper are both practicing fully this week and running back Pierre Thomas is working on a limited basis as New Orleans prepares to play at Cincinnati.
Saints coach Sean Payton says he’s encouraged to see the defending champions getting healthier as the home stretch of the regular season approaches with New Orleans in the thick of the playoff hunt.
Thomas has missed eight games with a sprained left ankle, while Shockey, who had bruised ribs, and Sharper, who pulled his left hamstring, each have missed the last two games.
Thomas says he is able to cut laterally and sprint and that his goal this week is to prove to the coaching staff that he’s ready to play on Sunday.
