ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -An MRI has confirmed that Raiders quarterback Bruce Gradkowski has a third-degree shoulder separation but will avoid surgery and could return this season.
Gradkowski was hurt late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 33-17 loss to Miami, aggravating a shoulder injury he initially suffered against Arizona on Sept. 26. Gradkowski missed four games after that.
Jason Campbell will replace Gradkowski for this week’s game at San Diego.
It’s the latest twist in what has been an ongoing saga for Oakland’s quarterbacks this season. Coach Tom Cable has flip-flopped many times amid reports owner Al Davis has pushed for Campbell to be the full-time starter.
