EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -Brett Favre is throwing the ball for Minnesota a lot more than he thought he would.
The Vikings didn’t expect to air it out so much, either, but they’re taking what defenses are giving their 40-year-old quarterback. Coach Brad Childress joked that his decision to keep passing in Sunday’s win over Chicago was “almost heresy,” considering his preference for conservative play calling.
Favre’s risk-taking history suggested it could clash with Childress’s cautious nature, but the Vikings are thriving with a 10-1 record. Favre threw for a season-high 392 yards against the Bears.
