EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -Denver rookie wide receiver Eddie Royal was active for the Broncos’ game Sunday against the New York Jets despite being limited in practice with a toe injury.
Royal, who leads NFL rookies with 58 catches, was listed as questionable on the team’s injury report after participating in practice on a limited basis Thursday and Friday.
The Broncos were again without cornerback Champ Bailey, who has been sidelined since injuring his groin against New England on Oct. 20. Bailey was optimistic early in the week that he might be able to play against the Jets.
Also inactive for Denver were linebackers D.J. Williams (knee) and Nate Webster (knee), safety Marlon McCree (ankle), running back Selvin Young (groin), defensive tackle Nic Clemons, defensive end Tim Crowder and fullback Andrew Pinnock.
th, who practiced this week for the first time since getting hurt last month. Harris reportedly had surgery on his groin earlier this month after he was injured in the second quarter of the Jets’ 28-24 victory over Kansas City on Oct. 26.
Smith hadn’t played or practiced since suffering his third head injury in a four-game span four weeks ago.
Also inactive for the Jets were kicker Mike Nugent, wide receiver David Clowney, running back Marcus Mason, cornerback Drew Coleman and tight end Bubba Franks. Brett Ratliff was listed as the team’s No. 3 quarterback.
